Guest information
Guests are welcome to arrive from 4pm onwards. There is ample private off road parking through our 5 bar gate (vehicles parked at owners risk). We offer a complimentary home baked Devonshire cream tea for all arrivals between 4pm and 5.30pm. Please advise us in advance if you are planning to arrive after 7pm.
We kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10.30am on the day of departure.
In the morning, we offer a choice of delicious breakfasts between 8.00am and 9.30am. However, we are happy to serve earlier by prior arrangement. A selection of cereal, fruit, yogurt and juice will wet your appetite for a hearty traditional full English breakfast. If this is not your desire, perhaps we can tempt you with a cooked breakfast tailored to your choices, maybe vegetarian, vegan or gluten free, we do our best to please everyone. Wherever possible our ingredients are sourced locally, including eggs laid by our own hens and homemade conserves from our own garden produce. Please advise us at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
If you would like one of our delightful picnic lunches, £7.50 per person or our evening Cheese Scone sharing platter for 2 people, £30.00, please place your order no later than 6pm the day before required and we will be happy to prepare these for you during your stay.
The picnic lunch includes a filled demi baguette (choice of fillings), a packet of Burts crisps, an item of fruit (choices available), a piece of homemade cake and a 500ml bottle of still mineral water.
Enjoy one of our Cheese Scone sharing platters for 2 people any evening in our conservatory (or dining room during cooler months). Included on the platter are homemade cheese scones, a selection of local Devon cheeses, home cooked ham, homemade chutney, a fan of apple slices, Burts crisps, leaves and fruit garnish. Follow this with one of Nicky's lovely homemade desserts. To accompany your food we include either a 500ml bottle of local Sam's Poundhouse Crisp cider or 250ml bottle of Heron Valley Apple juice per person (extra cider or apple juice available at an additional cost). This is an excellent opportunity to sample some of the wonderful food and drink produced in our county.
The New Inn Restaurant and Bar, just a couple of minutes walk away, offer lunch and evening meals. They are open Tuesday to Sunday. Booking advisable as they do get very busy.
Alternatively, there are pubs and restaurants in Okehampton and the surrounding villages, where we will be happy to book a table for you. Please ask for more details.
Both bedrooms are equipped with USB charging sockets for your devices and a TV with remote control.
Free wifi is available to guests.
In addition to guests arriving by car, we also welcome motorcyclists, cyclists and walkers. There are cleaning facilities and undercover secure parking for motorbikes and bicycles in our car port. Hooks to hang outdoor clothing on, as well as mats for muddy boots are situated in the boot room and anything particularly wet can be dried in front of our Rayburn in the kitchen. We can offer suggestions for excellent rides, both motorised or using pedal power, and walks of varying length.
It is also possible to reach us by public transport, with the train link between Exeter and Okehampton having been re-opened and buses stopping by The New Inn, just two minutes walk away. However, we would suggest you check the bus timetable in advance, as the service can be quite limited at certain times. There are also several local taxi companies (pre-booking advisable).
